This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, August 7th 2008.
On August 5th, a probable MISSISSIPPI KITE was seen along Hennepin County Road 19 north of the town of Excelsior. The exact location was where County Road 19 intersects with the Regional Bike Trail.
A few BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS were seen on the 2nd about twenty-three miles west and four miles south of Redwood Falls in northwestern Redwood County. Check the alfalfa field north of 305th Street between County Road 8 on the east and Balsa Avenue on the west.
A SUMMER TANAGER was reported at Como Lake, Ramsey County, on the 3rd, but I have no specific directions.
On the 4th, a BLUE GROSBEAK was in Lyon County in the tree line to the southwest of the Lynd wastewater ponds, which are located northeast of town along county road 23.
