This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, September 25th 2008.
On September 19th, a ROCK WREN was reported from the top of Inspiration Peak State Wayside Park in Otter Tail County. This is just west of Urbank. No further updates have been forthcoming. Interestingly, on the 25th, another ROCK WREN was discovered in the Grand Marais, Cook County, campground. It was reported from a large dirt pile near the yellow maintenance garages.
Two PARASITIC JAEGERS were at the end of Park Point in Duluth on the 21st. At the same time, a possible LITTLE GULL was seen off the 12th Street access of the point.
The first HARRIS'S SPARROW of the fall was reported on the 19th along the Blue Hill Trail at Sherburne NWR in Sherburne County, and the first SNOW BUNTINGS were seen on the 21st in Duluth. The first ROSS'S GEESE of the fall were at Lakeview Golf Course in Two Harbors, Lake County on the 24th, and a migrant SPOTTED TOWHEE was in a yard in Moorhead, Clay County, on the same day.
