This is the Minnesota birding report for Thursday September 7th, sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

Three BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS were at the Fletcher Sod Farms in Hassan Township, Hennepin County, on September 2nd. From the town of Fletcher go south on Hennepin County Road 116 for eight-tenths of a mile.
A COMMON MOORHEN was seen September 4th in a marsh east of the town of Beauford in Blue Earth County. Go south of Mankato on state highway 22 to Blue Earth county road 10, then east one mile to an unnumbered gravel road. Go north here for about a quarter of a mile.
The Little Gull reported August 30th on the east side of French Lake in northern Hennepin County has apparently left the area, but the previously unidentified RED-NECKED PHALAROPE was still present as recently as September 5th.
At Cedar Lake in Hennepin County was an early ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, seen August 31st. Also noted there on the 4th was a SWAINSON'S THRUSH.
In Duluth, two PARASITIC JAEGERS were seen over Lake Superior on September 3rd and 4th. One, a light morph adult, was found at Park Point between the Recreation Area and the Superior Entry. The other was a dark juvenile seen at the mouth of the Lester River. For more information on these and other birds in the Duluth area, call the Duluth Birding report at 218-525-5952.
