This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday March 28th, sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

Nancy Jackson found a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE on the 23rd in Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Dakota County. The bird was seen near the parking lot.

In Jackson County, two ROSS'S GEESE were seen on the 21st. They were found on the county road that runs between the towns of Lakefield and Heron Lake. On the 26th a total of 31 Ross's Geese were counted at nearby Clear Lake. Many GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were also in the area. A few Greater White-fronted Geese were also seen in Carver County at Eagle Lake south of the town of New Germany.

Warren Nelson found a SNOWY OWL in Aitkin County on the 24th. He found it about six miles north of Aitkin along County Road 1.

A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen in Wilkin County on March 21st along U.S. Highway 75 about ten miles north of Breckenridge.

Forty-one TRUMPETER SWANS were seen on Sleepy Eye Lake in Brown county on the 25th.

Other migrants that I have reports of which arrived during this past week include many waterfowl such as TUNDRA SWAN, RING-NECKED DUCK, GREATER SCAUP, NORTHERN SHOVELER, and REDHEAD. I also have reports of TURKEY VULTURE, RING-BILLED GULL, YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET, EASTERN BLUEBIRD, FOX SPARROW, SNOW BUNTING, and EASTERN MEADOWLARK.
