Hotline: Minnesota Statewide
This is the Minnesota statewide birding report for Wednesday September
23rd sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.
Kim Eckert reported to me today that four SABINE'S GULL were seen in
Duluth at the far end of Minnesota Point near the Superior Entry. For
additional information on these and other birds in the Duluth area, call
the Duluth birding report at 218-525-5952.
On September 19th an adult LITTLE GULL was seen flying over Mille Lacs
Lake from the Wealthwood public access in Aitkin County. Likely this was
the same individual reported from here last week. This bird was seen again
early on September 20th, but has not been seen since.
A ROSS'S GOOSE was found at the south end of Lake Byllesby in Dakota
County on September 22nd.
Paul Budde found a SHORT-EARED OWL on September 20th from the public
garden area on the west side of the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport. The
garden is located at the far eastern end of 66th Street in Richfield.
I have a belated report of a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD, seen September 17th at
the House of Hope Presbyterian Church in St. Paul, which is located at the
junction of Summit Avenue and Avon.
