1961FallBob Janssen saw (or should we say "heard") his first one on 2 Sep. at Fisher Lake, Scott County.
1962SpringMay 16 Frontenac, Goodhue Co., R. Huber and W. R. Pieper saw and heard one, spring plumage, call note tu-tu instead of the usual three syllables.

2000Spring Reported from 18 south and 9 north counties. Early south 4/26 (no details, ties earliest date on record) Meeker DF, 4/28 McLeod DF, 4/30 Lac qui Parle CM. Early north 5/7 Clay WM and Marshall JJ, then 5/15 in two counties. Peak counts 5/13 Lyon (45) RgS, 5/13 Yellow Medicine (62) RgS, 5/16 Dakota (45) TT, 5/19 Becker (40–50) BK.
2000Summer Fall migrants seen in ten counties. Early migrant 6/29 Marshall (8) DPJ; peak count 7/3 Polk (16 adults in alternate plumage) PHS.

2001Fall See summer report for first fall migrants and high count. First juvenile 8/12 Big Stone PCC. Reported from four north counties; late north 9/9 St. Louis PHS. Seen in seven south counties; late south 9/8 Big Stone PCC, PHS.
2002Spring Reported from 20 south and 15 north counties in all regions, but only Mower in Southeast. Early south 4/26 (ties earliest date) Lyon RBJ, 4/28 Lac qui Parle NAJ. Early north 5/8 Traverse KJB, 5/11 Clay RHO and Polk JMJ. Late south (median 5/23) 5/20 Stevens JJS. Late north 5/26 Beltrami DPJ, 5/27 Pennington JMJ. High counts 5/2 Lac qui Parle (47 at Big Stone N.W.R.) BEO, 5/16 Polk (46 at Crookston) EEF, plus three additional reports of 25+ birds elsewhere in the state during mid-May.
2002Summer Many reports, similar to 1999. Fall migrants reported in 15 western and southern counties (almost identical to pattern described for Lesser Yellowlegs); early migrants 6/21 (earliest ever) Lac qui Parle (5) PCC, 6/30 Traverse (4) PHS, PCC. Peak count 7/25 Lac qui Parle (18) BEO.
2002Fall See summer report for first fall migrants. High count 8/4 Roseau (22) PHS. First juveniles 8/7 Dakota TAT and Traverse KJB, PCC. Observed in six north counties; late north 9/2 Marshall JMJ. Seen in nine south counties; late south 9/12 Lac qui Parle and Lincoln KJB.
2003Spring Reported from 12 south and 9 north counties in all regions. Early south 4/27 Scott PEJ (only April report statewide), 5/6 Dakota JPM, 5/8 Chippewa and Swift JJS.
