At the Crookston lagoons in Polk County on the 9th, Peder Svingen found BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER, KILLDEER, GREATER YELLOWLEGS, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, LEAST SANDPIPER, BAIRD'S SANDPIPER, and PECTORAL SANDPIPERS.

Another sighting on the 9th was that of two juvenile SABINE'S GULLS at the Breckenridge lagoons in Wilkin County. These birds were found by Peder Svingen also.

On a recent trip to the Northwest Angle, between Sprague and Angle Inlet, Gretchen Mehmel found NORTHERN HAWK OWL, GREAT GRAY OWL, RUFFED GROUSE, and SPRUCE GROUSE. On Lake of the Woods and other areas nearby, she observed BALD EAGLE, PEREGRINE FALCON, AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER and PECTORAL SANDPIPER, as well as large flocks of CANVASBACKS, RING-NECKED DUCKS and SNOW GEESE.

At the Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge in Becker County this week, birds observed included: AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN, SNOW GOOSE, TRUMPETER SWAN, GREAT BLUE HERON, GREEN HERON, TURKEY VULTURE, NORTHERN HARRIER, ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, BONAPARTE'S GULL, RING-BILLED GULL, GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET, RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, EASTERN BLUEBIRD, YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, WHITE-THROATED SPARROW, HARRIS'S SPARROW, WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW, and many DARK-EYED JUNCOS.
