This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Wednesday, November 27th, sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

There is a BAND-TAILED PIGEON being seen near Hastings, Dakota County where it has been visiting a home since November 20th. It has been seen every day since then, primarily in the early afternoon. It likes to visit the water trays and a feeder of the far side of the home owners' deck. The hosts are Hank and Carrol Tressel, 20240 Quentin Avenue East. This is in Ravenna Township. Driving south from Hastings on state highway 316, turn left on 200th (or County Road 68), then right on Quamme, left on 203rd, then left again on Quentin. The home is on the right side of the road. The home owners have requested that no one venture into their backyard nor do they want visitors on Thanksgiving Day.

Drew Smith reported a first-winter ICELAND GULL on the 27th at Black Dog Lake in Dakota County. He also reported that MUTE SWAN, TRUMPETER SWAN, and TUNDRA SWAN can all be seen on the lake.

The ROSS'S GOOSE is still on East Side Lake in Austin, Mower County. It was reported as recently as November 23rd.

On the 24th, a SNOWY OWL was near the St. Louis River in west Duluth, on the upstream side of the point that extends out from Morgan Park.

A LESSER YELLOWLEGS was at Lake Byllesby in southern Dakota County on November 26th.

On the 25th a flock of eight BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS was feeding on berries near the hospital on the south side of Aitkin in Aitkin County.

A YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen on the 23rd approximately 100 yards east of the new bridge on the Hogback Ridge trail of the Old Cedar Avenue Bridge area of Bloomington, Hennepin County.

WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were in the Sax-Zim bog on the 25th, on County Road 52 about a mile west of St. Louis County Road 7.
