This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, February 13th.

On February 5th, Heidi Hughes sighted a gray GYRFALCON over the Blatnik Bridge between Duluth and Superior Wisconsin. It was chasing a flock of pigeons on the Duluth side of the bridge.

Up to four HARLEQUIN DUCKS continue to be seen in Two Harbors, Lake County. As recently as the 13th, Jim Lind reported four from Agate Bay.

A VARIED THRUSH is being seen in Bruce Stahly's backyard, about three miles west of Grand Marais in Cook County. It was first noticed on January 20th, and has been seen fairly regularly since then, most recently on February 7th.

A single BOHEMIAN WAXWING was found in Meeker County on February 8th. It was in with a group of CEDAR WAXWINGS at the Litchfield Nature Center.

Two SHORT-EARED OWLS were seen on the 11th at the location known as Salem Corners in Olmsted County. This is at the junction of 20th Street Southwest and 70th Avenue Southwest.

On February 9th, an adult GOLDEN EAGLE was reported from the intersection of Houston County Roads 249 and 32.

And on February 7th, an adult NORTHERN GOSHAWK was observed along the Upland segment of the Maple Loop cross-country ski trail in Cook County. The trail is east of County Road 2.
