This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, February 20th.

The female BARROW'S GOLDENEYE is still being seen at the levee near the high school in downtown Fergus Falls, Otter Tail County. It was spotted again on the 13th.

The BAND-TAILED PIGEON is still being seen near Hastings, Dakota County where it has been visiting the home of Hank and Carrol Tressel since late November. The hosts live at 20240 Quentin Avenue East.

On the 17th, there was a male HARLEQUIN DUCK on Lake Superior out from the lighthouse in Two Harbors, Lake County, and a female was by seen around the point towards the east on the same day.

A GREAT GRAY OWL was still along St. Louis County Road 7 near County Road 316 in the Sax Zim Bog area on the 15th. The SNOWY OWL is still being seen at the soccer fields in Blaine, Anoka County, just east of Davenport Avenue along 109th Street, just east of state highway 65.

On the 17th Jeff Newman reported a VARIED THRUSH in West Duluth, St. Louis County. To reach the location, follow Redruth Street up the hill to where it ends, then follow the railroad grade for three quarters of a mile toward Spirit Mountain. The bird was seen just along the trail on the grade. Another Varied Thrush is being seen in Bruce Stahly's backyard, about three miles west of Grand Marais, Cook County. It was first noticed on January 20th, and has been seen fairly regularly since then.

A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen along highway 44 just north of Caledonia, in Houston County on February 14th.

BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were reported this week from Ely and Duluth in St. Louis County, McGregor in Aitkin County, Two Harbors in Lake County, and Mora in Kanabec County.
