This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, September 13th, sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

The Long-tailed Jaeger first reported on September 5th from the St. Croix River east of Bayport, Washington County, has not been seen since the 7th. It was originally found by Tom Ramsey near the Bayport power plant at Stillwater. Thanks especially to Mark Citsay and Connie Osbeck who rediscovered the bird at the Bayport Marina on the evening of September 6th and notified birders. Mark and Connie also kept us all informed as to the bird's presence and eventual disappearance.

Bill Longley reports that two TRUMPETER SWANS can be seen at Carlos Avery Refuge in Anoka County. He found them at Pool Number 3 on the 12th .

On the 7th, Doug Jenness reports that a COMMON MOORHEN was still present near the western public access to Minnesota Lake in Meeker County.

Many AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS can be seen feeding at the Weaver Marshes in eastern Wabasha County. Jon Peterson counted 340 there on September 7th.

Also on the 7th, in Big Stone County there were still 150-200 shorebirds at intersection of state highway 28 and county road 61, including six AMERICAN AVOCETS and two BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS.

Dave Baden reported that a BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER was seen in his yard in Prior Lake, Scott County, on the 6th.

Jeanie Joppru reported several WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS in her Pennington County yard on September 9th. On the same day, Connie Brunell found them at the Old Cedar Ave. Bridge area in Bloomington, Hennepin County.

The next scheduled update of this tape is Thursday, September 20th.
