The identification was based on impressions of bill and body sizes, but there was no direct comparison available with anything to make these impressions diagnostic. The only other useful mark noted was the "flat-crowned" head-shape which tends to suggest Lesser Scaup more than Greater; also this scaup was apparently in eclipse plumage when head shape is unreliable. | Not Accepted | ||||
